On the evening of June 4, the Chinese language and literature union of the Honors College invited Professor Shen Xingpei from College of Chinese Language and Literature to give a lecture for students, with the theme of "how to manage 'seven things in the university'". This lecture falls in a series of lectures on academic tutor's pilot program. Due to the epidemic prevention, this lecture adopts the combination of online and offline.

First of all, Doctor Shen Xingpei combined with the training mode of strengthening the college, starting from the confusion and the "infantile disease" of college students. He explained the harm of lacking order and independence in university life, as well as the importance of scientific research awareness and high-quality papers in university learning.

Then, he vividly narrated seven things that a student should do well. The first thing is to lay a solid foundation, that is, to cultivate a sound basic personality and a broad and solid basic major. On this basis, college students can try to "steal art" after class. On the basis of professional knowledge, they can attend courses of other majors, postgraduates’ and even in other schools. He pointed out that academic lectures are "important landscapes" that cannot be ignored in the university era, while academic conferences are "professional meals" that should not be unnoticed. Shen focused on the importance of scientific research, especially the types of scientific research and how to do it well. In addition, he narrated the college students' correct outlook on career selection, how to make a living actively and lead a free and elegant life in three aspects: the "test project" outside the tower, my "Muse" and the heart in the distance.

Finally, he pointed out that there are more than seven important things in the process of university growth. It is a must that every college student strive to grow from disorder to order, from spontaneity to consciousness. The students all benefited a lot.
