At the beginning of the new semester, which major to choose has become a big problem to students of Grade 2015.
To help juniors set specific goals, the Study Department of the Students’ Union held an experience sharing session about how to select courses and majors in Hongsheng Reading Room on the afternoon of March 5th. Through discussing in groups, the students of Grade 2015 had an opportunity to talk with the excellent seniors face to face. They could have a better understanding of the relevant majors and get professional and practical experience.
Before the meeting, students came to the reading room early with their question notes. Obviously, they were well prepared. They wouldn’t miss the good chance to communicate with seniors about the professional problems.
The consultation started at 2 p.m. on time. The seniors attended the meeting were from eight majors, which covers both arts and sciences. The topic mainly revolved around these issues: some dos and don’ts of selecting courses; how to choose a tutor in sophomore year; the specific arrangements of credits; the adjustments in study and life compared to the previous one. Students also had a heated discussion on some other problems they were concerned about.
Through this experience sharing session, Grade 2015 students were able to define their goals and carry out efficient learning. Above all, they had a more complete plan for career projects and academic pursuits. (Translated by Ji Juanyu)
