On March 17, 2019, 37 students from grade 2016 and 2017 of the Xingzhi Class of the Humanities College of Jiangnan University came to the Honors College to communicate and study with the students here.

The exchange was divided into two parts. The first part was a visit to Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Normal University, including Century Square, Jingwen Library, Art Museum and School History Museum, led by members of the Students’ Union of the Honors College. In the School History Museum, students were delighted to discover that Nanjing Normal University and Jiangnan University were both originated from Sanjiang Normal School, which added an indescribable source to this exchange. Finally, the receptionist led the students from Xingzhi Class to have dinner in the eastern canteen, and they praised the food.

The second thematic discussion and interaction session was held at 11:30 in Classroom 210 in Xuehai Building.
Firstly, Teacher Li Yujie from the Honors College introduced the history and training mode of the College, and expressed a warm welcome to the students from Jiangnan University. Afterwards, Teacher Deng Changhai, the instructor of the Xingzhi Class, introduced the overall situation of the Xingzhi class. The Xingzhi class brings together excellent students from the Humanities College, including Chinese Literature, Education and so on. It upholds Tao Xingzhi's teaching idea that "action is the beginning of knowledge and knowledge is the result of action", integrating knowledge with practice, and absorbs talents from various specialties in order to train practical and research-oriented students.

In order to let the students of Jiangnan University have a deeper understanding of the College, representatives of the College's Major Unions, such as the Chinese Literature Union and the Hongsheng Studio, introduced the goals and activities of the establishment of their unions, showing the style of students in the College.
After the brief introduction of the two institutes, Cao Yuge, a member of the Xingzhi Class, started a discussion which closely focused on the practical prospects of future and the cultivation of talents, and intensified the discussion among the students of different colleges, and students expressed their own opinions. After the theme discussion, the students of the two colleges discussed the problems regarding life and studies. From professional learning to campus life, students deepened their understanding and sparked in communication.
Finally, the two sides gave each other gifts and left a group photo in front of the Xuehai Building, which drew a successful conclusion to the exchange.

This exchange has established an information sharing platform for colleges of both sides and provided new ideas for their development. Representatives of the two colleges learned from each other's strengths and will constantly improve themselves. In the future, there will be more cooperation and sparks between the Honors College and the Xingzhi Class of Humanities.
